I have fallen in love with these massage bars. They are great especially after a shower. It makes my skin so soft. I really like using it if I have shaved I have really dry skin.
The massage bar works with your own body heat. As you place it in your hand the bar will melt with your heat. Rub it on your legs and arms and it just feels like heaven.
Another reason for being one of my favorites is no mess oils and bottles to mess with.
Works great for a back massage as well. Have your partner rub the bar between their hands and on to your back and the oils soak into the skin nicely and feels wonderful.
Simple Recipe
2 oz beeswax
1 oz Sweet Almond oil-or other carrier oil such as grapeseed
1 oz cocoa butter
10 drops of coconut oil
A couple drops of fragrant oil or essential oil for scent if you would like
Melt beeswax and cocoa butter together in a double broiler once melt combine your carrier oil. Let cool a couple of minutes add fragrant or essential oil. Pour into molds and let set for at least 24 hours.
It is a lot of experimenting with recipes. A lot are found on the web and then tweaked. With my skin problem(exzema on mostly my hands) I have been making mostly all natural things to help with it. I am finding a lot of brand name things trigger it these days. So the more I can make on my own skipping those chemicals the better and it seems cheaper as well. I love playing with all natural butters my fav being shea or mango butter, they are so nice and feel great on the skin.

Thanks for the recipe, Leah! Might just have to try this recipe out in the fall. I have been making my own soaps, creams, lotions etc for about 10 yrs. but have strayed away from the massage bars, lip balms etc over the years. Always nice to test out someone else's recipe for a change!
Leah & Shirley: If you have excema you should be looking for/making products with oats which contains high amounts of vitamin D and silicic acid. These ingredients both sooth the nerve endings and promote healing.
I just recently came across an article in the UK about eczema and they are saying that oats maybe be linked to some out breaks of eczema. Weird I have always heard that they are good for it but every time I used something with the oats I never got any relief from it. I find the best thing I use is whipped natural shea butter with no fragrance or essential oils. It can be a little greasy on the skin at first but soaks in nicely and sure helps keeps my hand from getting extremely dry to the point they itch and bleed. It was just last fall I began working with all my bath n beauty products and at that time my hands were a mess I could not even do dishes but they cleared up when working with the stuff and within a month they were so clear my mother couldn't believe it. For the first time in 20 years my hands looked normal. Not too sure if it was because of the stuff I was working with everyday or not. But as soon as I stopped making things this spring I broke out with in days and am now just getting my hands normal again. Weird. They are working on a cure for this nasty thing but not sure if there every will be one. My heart goes out to the children who suffer with this. I am 38 years old and want to crawl out of my skin somedays.
