Difficult child?

I am not sure if this is the place for this but...Has anyone had to deal with a child that is just constantly causing problems? I have a 9 year old step son and I think he goes out of his way to be mean, start fights, & complain. It is like he is not happy unless everyone else is angry. I am at a loss as to how to handle this. I am not sure DH and I will make it past this sometimes. I need help!

Best advise my son got when he started living with a woman who already had a child. Go to parenting classes together. Insist. Also, ask your step sons school about a counselor. The kids been through something, he needs someone (and sometimes it takes someone outside the family) to help him work it out.
