| Hi!
My sister just had a new baby boy today! I'm an aunt!!!!
I'm wanting to make her a "new mommy" gift basket instead of the traditional baby gift basket. I want my sister to feel pampered also. Especially since the baby was delivered by c-section. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I could put in the gift basket for her? I'm a decorative painter so my ideas are limited in this area
Thanks a bunch!
Chrissie
HERE ARE SOME IDEAS I HAVE.
A NICE MUG
A PKG. OF FLAVORED TEA
CHOCLATES
CHOCLATE CHIP COOKIES
HAND CREAM
DUSTING POWDER
A SOOTHING MUSIC TAPE OR CD
A ROMANTIC OR FUNNY VIDEO
A SOFT SCRUBBY AND SHOWER GEL FOR THE SHOWER
A BOTTLE OF NAIL POLISH
A GIFT CERTIFICATE FOR A HAIRCUT/STYLE
A COUPON FOR A NIGHT OF FREE BABYSITTING BY THE NEW AUNTIE
Chrissy,
this is what I did for my daughter when my granSon was born;
a few weeks after he was born- when a much needed R & R was called for -I gave her special SPA Retreat. It took place while the baby was napping and even tho it was only about 1 hour it was a real treat for her.
I lit an aromatic candle, put on some relaxation music. i then shampooed her hair along with a gentle scalp massage. Then I gave her a hand and foot massage with lots of lotion, then painted her nails and toenails for her. It was the best gift for her (I am in no way a pro at any of this- but that didn't seem to matter.)
You could make a book of gift certificates, and include them in a basket with the candles, lotion, nail polish, etc.
Hope this gives you some new ideas to work with.
Loretta
Thank you everyone for your wonderful ideas! Here is what I did:
-A picture frame that matched her nursery (it's a hard to find print so I was excited about that!)
-A book she wanted
-A "foot fixers" package from B&BWorks-it has a foot scrub, massager and shea butter in it)
-A bag of prepackaged scone mix
-A jar of cinnamon apple butter
-A Yankee Candle-Baby Powder scented
-and I made a mix of Decaf Spiced Tea that I put in a jar and tied with ribbon.
We're leaving to see her tomorrow! Can't wait to see my new nephew!
