Default What happens when......
Old 09-18-2008, 12:50 PM   #1 (permalink)

Well...do you know what happens when you get too anxious & work too fast? You (I) don't measure right & have to start over again ~sigh~ Joe looked at my card & thought it was too big so remeasured...it was. ~bigger sigh~ So, now I need to learn how to measure with a ruler right...lol...back to the drawing board.
Thank goodness I have til the end of the month for the swap.
Please tell me something of this sort has happened to someone else so I don't feel so stupid.

Debi Honey, you're not alone at all. I'm standing in that line right beside you. I was looking at mine last night and they looked like they were cut crooked. I measured and remeasured and it was right but it still looked crooked. What it was, was where I have the textured cardstock, the cut lines are not running parrallel to the texture and it's making it look crooked. Did I feel , You're right I did and chalked it up to the background card having some character. We all have a crooked moment at one point in time

You are not alone. I sometimes cut crooked so I got a paper cutter. I have started over more than once on cards.

I LOVE my cricut paper cutter. It has rulers going both ways. It makes cutting paper so easy! Before I got that I was constantly cutting things the wrong size. I still do occasionally but not as much now.

(It's the green cutter with a ruler that extends out the left side so you can cut up to 12 inches. I think it was $10 at WalMart. The extendable ruler folds back down into the cutter for easier storage.)

Thanks Barb. I needed that I'll have to keep the textured problem in mind (on a note actually cos I'll forget). Altho I'll try to keep away from texture (& plaid) just in case

Shar & Leanna have now convinced me that I need to invest in a paper cutter girls

I think we are all in that boat at sometime or another. Mine was a little different, I was telling my mom about the ATC's and was mid sentence when I lost my whole train of thought and never did get it back.:mawmawfumin g:

Thanks Mickey I haven't done that ... yet...but I'm sure I will. Sometimes when I go to bed I think of something I want to try but when I get up, I forget it I tell myself to leave a paper & pencil by the bed...but never do. Someday I'll listen to me...

Well girls because I had such a hard time cutting mine I bought a deck off ebay, its like buying a blank deck of cards. But they are not as thick as I would like so glue two together to get it some firmness.

The idea of buying a deck is tempting. However, I doubt I'll need that many so I'll muddle thru...maybe buy a cutter. I'd probably have another use for that...someday

I bought some of these~ Etsy :: craftytools :: ATC ACEO Blanks - 25 Natural Chipboard

This is actually a better price and more blanks than what I bought.
