We have been searching for the recipe for years. My hubby's mother bless her soul used to make this for him when he was a child. It sure brought back memories for him this week. We have We have made three batches this week alone. It is simple and easy even the kids love it. I make it also with no nuts or anything in it and it is so good.
Brown Sugar Candy
1 pound of brown sugar
3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoons vanilla
walnuts/or peanuts
Cook sugar and milk until is forms a soft ball in cold water(soft ball stage). Beat in butter;add vanilla and nuts. Beat until is starts looking dull and pour into a greased(buttered) dish or pan. Score and cut after a few minutes.
Notes:
Durning the beating stage you can add different things such as:
peanut butter
coconut
quick oats
pecans
almonds
Important Note:
HIDE AFTER MAKING OR IT SUDDENLY DISAPPEARS
ALSO DON'T EAT ENTIRE PLATE FULL WHEN WATCHING AFTERNOON SHOWS
