--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Supplies Needed:
•10 ounces of semisweet chocolate, melted
•1/3 cup corn syrup
•Waxed paper
Step One: After melting the chocolate in the microwave or on a double boiler, add the corn syrup.
Step Two: Scoop the mixture on to waxed paper. Using your fingers, spread evenly and allow to dry for at least one hour, or overnight.
Step Three: The chocolate should now be hard but playable.
Step Four: Roll the chocolate into small balls the size of a large marble.
Step Five: Taking one ball at a time, place on waxed paper and press into a flat circle, (placing another piece of waxed paper on top).
Step Six: These circles (which should be about the size of a half dollar coin), are the petals for forming chocolate roses.
Step Seven: Peel the first petal off of the waxed paper, and fold into a triangular shape (like a teepee) to form the center of the rose.
Step Eight: Now wrap a second petal arounf=d the center core, pressing to secure at the base. Curl the ends of the petals slightly to make it look realistic.
Step Nine: Repeat adding petals, overlapping them as you go. Add as many petals as you think necessary to form a beautiful rose.
Step Ten: Refrigerate the roses when finished. |
