Old 12-31-1969, 08:00 PM   #1 (permalink)

I have never worked with rafia before (yes that"s what I said) anyway how do you make angel hair and stuff. It´s so stiff and papery I can´t do much with it. Is there a secret. I promise I won´t tell anyone except everybody

Default Rafia...Help??

( Pssssst! Here's a secret)

Buy wooden dowels that are the diameter you would like the curls to be. Wrap straight raffia around the dowels, tying at both ends. Soak the raffia wrapped dowels in water (make sure they're covered well with water), then lift them out and allow them to dry overnight. Spray lightly with the cheapest hairspray you can buy. When the hairspray is dry, carefully remove the raffia from the dowel. It holds the curl a lot better than if you curl it with a curling iron!

Hope that helps. Now DON'T TELL ANYBODY!!!
