Brown paper bag wall paper??

I was looking for an interesting idea for wall covering for our bathroom.....saw this online and was wondering if anyone on here has done this??



From what I understand you used torn up brown paper bags and wall paper paste and just cover the walls???



Any one done this?? Any other good ideas for wall covereing like this??

I think I saw that on TV. When finished, it had a suede/leathery look.





[img]images/smiley_icons/oops!.gif[/img] Just did a search on the HGTV site and didn't find it. Can you try it on the inside of a storage building wall, attic wall, wall belonging to someone you don't necessarily like, etc.?

Yea I was thinking about trying it out on my 16 yo daughters bedroom wall~she would never notice what I did!

That sounds pretty cool. I know a couple of years ago we were thinking of doing the living room in tissue paper, but we moved before I could try it. I am still thinking of doing that here in our living room the tissue thing. Let us know if you do the paper bag walls and show us some pics.

I've seen online ideas for using wrapping paper or tissue paper. Just make sure you have enough of the same print to cover the walls if using wrapping paper, lol!

I think I saw that show KW. It looked pretty cool. Not sure if I'm brave enough to try something like that though. I have a hard time just picking out paint colors. All the walls in my house are the same color - off white. Even the outside of my house is creamy yellow. BORING!



Oh, except the main bathroom. I did get a wild hair November before last and painted the walls a Royal Blue. Looks pretty cool. Never have gotten the ceiling painted though. It's still white with mildew accents. UGH! [img]images/smiley_icons/roflmbo.gif[/img]

[img]images/smiley_icons/friends.gif[/img] I have never used brown paper bag on walls but have used it on marked up table tops and ceramic vases. I tore up paper in small pieces and painted what ever color I wanted and then sealed it with a brush on sealent. Still have the table and vases. I dust them with regular furniture polish and they are still are [img]images/smiley_icons/smile.gif[/img] like new looking. It was called Maraccan leather then.
