I bought an old 100% wool sweater today and I have it sitting in hot water and detergent right now!! I will look around a bit to see what I want to make from it as I haven't desided yet!! First I want to see how big the sweater is when I'm done washing and drying it!! [img]images/smiley_icons/hysterical.gif[/img]

[img]images/smiley_icons/hysterical.gif[/img] Round 2!! I'm now washing my sweater for the 3rd time!! I have turned it inside out as I want it to felt up more!! The sweater is half the size it was!!



I'm thinking a nice tote bag for this sweater!! [img]images/smiley_icons/hysterical.gif[/img]



I should have taken a before and after for you!! I'll take an after anyway and then a finished tote!!

[img]images/smiley_icons/jiving.gif[/img] WEll I finished my Sweater Tote up yestarday evening while chatting with my mom!! I think it turned out great!! I'm going to wash it one more time so it felts up just a little more to hide any hand stiching I have done!!



Hope it inspires you all to try one!! Next time I think I'll do the mitts!! I know they will be so warm!! [img]images/smiley_icons/jiving.gif[/img]



This is the sweater after being washed and dryed 3 times it has gone from a ladies M/L to a childs 6x/7!!

This one shows the full size of the tote part!!







The finished tote its 13X11 and the handles are about another 14 inches long!!



I'm sure once I wash it one more time it will shrink a bit, but it will streach some with use!!

GG bring this up on Ebay you will find a lot of people selling this and it would make a great coat, mitts, hat and scarf for one of your dolls!!!



I will be looking up slipper patterns too!! There is so much ot there to try this with!!!

[img]images/smiley_icons/jiving.gif[/img] Got another Sweater today, but it will be another bag!! It has a sceen on it!! It is already pre shrunk once so I just have to do it a couple more times!! This one has 85% wool and 15% cashmer!!! It's a Read sweater!! I'll take a befor anf after again!!



I hope to enter this one in the fair!!<
