Hi, I do alot of jewelry including beading and silversmithing. I usually use wire for most of my projects which is when I would use the crimp beads, but when using thread I use french wire. French wire is like a spring that you pull your thread through to protect it from breaking, then you can add a jump ring and clasp, or togle. Check out www.firemountaingems.com they have great tutotorials to help with this. Good luck.
