Now that she's recovering and we have some distance from the situation we're not sure if it was the cat or the vet. She's never liked going to the vet but nothing close to this has ever happened before. He was pretty upset that she scratched him but she was out of our sight so we can't prove anything.

I've been researching shock in cats and all I can find is to call the vet right away. I can't find anything about the vet causing it. Anyway now that she is out of danger we are pretty angry at the way the whole thing was handled. I'm also mad at the vet as well as myself for not stepping in and stopping the blood draw when he was having trouble. I never should have let him take her to the back out of my sight.

But she's doing better -- that's the important thing. I think she hurt her back when she was fighting him. She's just now jumping up on the bed and in the window again.
