If you're wanting the kids to not "lose" the soap, crochet a chain to make a handle at the top so they can hang it from the knob.

I think if you change the vocabulary picky people are more excepting. Custom made instead of homemade. Or, it's an original.

People are funny. I have a friend crocheting bags out of plastic bags. 5 years ago she'd have been called nuts. As a matter of fact, her husband called her nuts when she started. That is until she got $20 a bag!
