| I'm a self-taught knitter and finally now a crocheter, so I can't read a pattern to save my life, and I have no idea if what I am doing is really crocheting. I looked at the pictures and thought, I think I can do that, and so I picked up the crochet hooks I inherited from my grandma and tried again, and I came up with this sponge. A friend looked at it for me, well I sent her this picture and she thought it looked like I did a single crochet stitch, but I am not sure, I hope that is it, but I really thought it turned out cute, but then I had more ideas running through my head, so I tried something else.... I made the same sponge, only left one end open so that you can insert a bar of soap, and use it in the bath....I called it a soapy for no other reason than that is the first thing that came to mind..... I am pretty proud of them, and feeling more confident, so maybe now I will try to figure out what all those crochet patterns and symbols mean and see if I can't learn a few real stitches. |
