Janis ~
My thoughts and prayers are with you. This is such a hard time for you and your family as it is and then to worry about the future only adds to the difficulties. I am so sorry that all of these worries lie on your shoulders.
I know a young woman who has received Social Security her whole adult life and she is only 27. Hers is for having epilespy.... that is something MANY can hold down a job with.... as I know 4 people that have. This girl can go shopping all day, walk to the store on her own, go swimming alone, many of live's daily tasks, except for drive a car. Her family fought for this when she was in High School (I believe) She lived in a different state from me, moved to another state, then to this state, and now to Florida - she has kept it the whole time... not sure as I do not speak to them any longer..... they lived next to me YEARS ago, but I do know that she is still receiving SS through friends of friends (you know how that works :) .... )
I would look into it. What is there to lose....? They can only say no and then you are back to where you are, but there is something to gain if they say yes.... I will pray for you!
Hugs to you and your family..... Praying for miracles ~ they DO happen!
