Default Christian Fiction Anyone?
Old 03-20-2008, 06:42 PM   #1 (permalink)

I enjoy christian fiction because more time is spent on the characters, their stories, thoughts, emotions, etc. Some of my favorite authors are Janette Oke, Dee Henderson, Francine Rivers, Michael Phillips, Judith Pella, and Penelope Stokes. I recently finished a book by Dee Henderson called The Healer. It is one in the O'Malley series and was great especially if you like mystery or suspense. The last book I read was A Dangereous Silence by Catherine Palmer. It, too, was an excellent read. Michael Phillips has series entitled the Shenandoah sisters which is excellent. It takes place at the time of the civil war. The daughter of a plantation owner is left orphaned as well as the daughter of a slave. The two girls find each other and learn to see past the outside and create their own family. These books are a wonderful read. Janette Oke's Love Comes Softly series is also excellent. All of her books are wonderful. The same is true of Francine Rivers. I am also finding this true of Penelope Stokes. I recently read one of hers called The Wishing Jar which spanned several generations of women and their faith. These are my recent reads. Anyone have any faves or other suggestions please don't be shy.
