Default What to do about Copyrights
Old 05-08-2007, 01:43 PM   #1 (permalink)

The church that I go to is doing a service project for a local children's hospital. Specifically we are knitting and crocheting animals for them. The problem is that we have to borrow most of the patterns from people on the web or from books that we have. So far the publishers we have called have said that we cannot hand out their patterns to our congregation so that people can make animals. Then some of the people we have contacted on the web have openly stated that the patterns that they claim to own are really from other people's sites. If someone states that a pattern is their's (one that is on a web site) how can I be sure of this? Also, how might I be able to persuade publishers to let us use their patterns? Please help!
