One that you won't find on-line are the lightbulbs I turn into birdhouses/chalets (I'm a birdhouse fanatic).

I paint the bulbs to look like little cottages. I add the painted entry hole on the front to make it look like a birdhouse and paint nesting material hanging out and sometimes even a little bird or two nesting inside but you can omit that if you want and just make a cottage by painting a door on the front.

I paint the threads of the bulb red to represent a chimney. Then I cut a piece of Fun Foam to use as the roof. I start by painting shingles on it. Then I cut a hole in the center so it can be put down over the 'chimney' and attach it to the sides of the finished birdhouse with a few drops of good glue. Accent with fake snow if you like.
