This is a small bird I made for a Christmas ornament swap I'm currently in. I did some crazy quilt stitching and embellishing on it. But of course you could make them to your liking. The pattern I have provided is from the spool blog spot, and will have to be reduced by 70% to make them as small as this one. If this is not possible the original pattern I will work as well only they may be a tad large .
The art of quilling (paper scroll work) has the advantage of being inexpensive, requires no special tools and can be enjoyed by any age group. To practice the various shapes, you can make decorated gift tags and flower picture (links to these projects are at the bottom of this page). This art of paper filigree work is accomplished by rolling narrow strips of paper into scrolls and gluing them together.
My grandmother taught me the art of rug hooking when I was young. She
believed it was her duty to teach her granddaughters the domestic arts.
Sewing, knitting, crochet, quilting, and darning a sock properly were high
on her list. Rug hooking was saved until I was a teenager.

Here is a fun decorative and useful idea for a baby shower signature quilt that will hang above the changing table and hold all the little supplies like... powder, lotion, diaper pins, etc.
Then when the baby is older - they can use the cute little pockets to hold their stuffed animals.

These little chairs make a unique gift for someone. The seat opens to hide little treasures. You can make different sizes by enlarging the pattern pieces. Thank you Julie Cain for the updated pattern file which can now be printed on 8 1/2 x 11 paper.

As I look out my dining room window I can see endless shades of yellow, golds, reds and orange. Maybe that's why I chose these colors for my "Thankful Harvest" wallhanging. This would make a lovely gift for anyone who appreciates Mother Nature's real beauty.
This cute little fellow is all bundled up for those arctic winter mornings at the North Pole! Help this little cutie get warm and cozy by placing him in your lighted Christmas tree this year.
