I loved this project. My church has asked me to teach a crochet/knitting class. I thought this would be a great beginner project. It works fast (instant gratification is important when first learning) and most people need or know somebody who would love to be given a scrunchie. I did change the pattern a little to include more stitches for teaching purposes. Everything is the same except for round two and instead of ch 3 at the end of rnd 1-ch 2:

Rnd 2: *dc, tr, dc,ch1 all in next stitch; ch1, sc in next st, ch1*continue in this manner for the rest of the round. Sl to join.

This works to make a smaller scrunchie and "petals". Thanks for the original!

and she steels them and I don't know where she puts them.

I am constantly loosing my scrunchies because they are so itty bitty. This way its more vibrant, therefore, more noticeable.
