7 sc and 7 rounds equal 1 inch.
Instructions given are for the stripe ball. Changes for Triangle and
diamond balls follow in parentheses.
To change thread color, work previous color to two loops on hook, pull new color through. Lay color not in use over the previous round of stitches and work over it until it is needed again.

To add new color, work over ends of thread for five or six stitches, cut end to 1 inch and let hang inside the ball.
With 1st color, ch 2.
Rnd 1
Work 6 sc in second ch from hook. Pull starting end to close the hole.

Rnd 2
Work 2 sc in each sc—12 sts.
Rnd 3
(1 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 6 times— 18 sts.
Rnd 4
(2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 6 times— 24 sts.
Rnd 5
(3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 6 times— 30 sts.

Change to 2nd color.

Rnd 6
(4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 6 times— 36 sts.
Rnd 7
Sc in each sc. Change 3rd color.

Rnd 8
(2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 12 times— 48 sts.
Rnd 9
Sc in each sc.

Sc in each sc, following chart.
Change back to 3rd color.
Rnd 15

Fill ball with dried peas.

Cut floss, leaving 6-inch end. Sew hole closed; knot and work end into the ball.
