Using a ladies handkerchief add lace around all the edges. Fold the handkerchief in half and buch at one end. Sew bunched end together - so the hankie becomes a tiny bonnet. Cuff about the last inch or so and add ribbons for ties. Then included the following poem:
"Hankie Bonnet"
I'm just a little hankie,
as square as square can be.
But with a stitch or two -
they made a bonnet out of me.
I'll be worn from the hospital,
upon the christening day.
Then I'll be carefully pressed
and neatly packed away.
On her wedding day -
so I've been told,
every well dressed bride,
must wear something old.
And what could be nicer
than to find little old me,
a few stitches snipped -
a wedding hankie I'll be.
If per chance it's a boy
someday he will wed.
So to his bride he can present
the hankie that once adorned his head.
