Take some nice Christmas fabric and cut into squares about 4" x 4". Sew right sides together on three sides. Turn right side out, then slip in a piece of batting a little smaller than the square. Insert some Christmas scented potpourri like pine or cinnamon. Sew the last side closed. Trim with lace if desired. These make wonderful coasters for hot drinks such as hot cider or cocoa. Use for a holiday party or for everyday use. When you set a mug filled with a hot beverage on the coaster it brings out the scent of the potpourri and scents the room. Make them a little larger and use them as hot pads when setting hot food on the table. Cut them into shapes like a heart, star or Christmas tree and make scented tree ornaments.
