My favorite Christmas traditions are the special recipes we make. Since I make crafts to sell during the Christmas season my time is much more limited than before but I always make my own Cranberry Sauce cooked with Apple Juice and sugar, whole berry style. My daughter loves listening to the berries pop! Another favorite recipe is from my Grandfather. He was a baker in Latvia and made these Semi-sweet rolls filled with Bacon & Onion. We simply call them Bacon Rolls. Good warm or at room temperature Christmas would not be the same without them. And speaking of my Grandpa, I can't have turkey without Sauerkraut! My husband thinks I am crazy but my grandfather had a recipe which used Brown Sugar, Bacon and Cloves. The Kraut is sweet and not sour at all! We also like to make Christmas Calendars with Candy hidden behind each day that you open until the 25th. My mother sometimes purchases them from the import store but the kids really like creating their own! Shadowbox style.
